The Technical Support Specialist provides a single point of contact or first entry point for all IT Support requests from KHCC employees. They provide exceptional client care by supporting and maintaining KHCC’s network, desktop, laptop, telecommunication and mobile environments. The successful candidate must be thorough, organized and able to manage time effectively in a unique and eco-friendly manner. Support will be required via email, telephone, remote and onsite. Responsibilities include all aspects of IT support affiliated with break / fix issues, process improvement, service requests related to network, communications, desktops/ laptops, applications, and print support.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify and escalate priority incidents or requests in a timely manner
  • Responsible for handling issues through to resolution as well as follow up communication with the end user.
  • Provide exceptional client care to employees and vendor for issues or requests logged.
  • Support mobile devices/tablets including set up, maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Overall end user hardware and or software installations, additions, changes, configuration, testing, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide end user troubleshooting and support for software applications
  • System/Application account creation/deletion/change/general maintenance.
  • Organize daily workload and efficiently manage requests and issues logged
  • Liaise with others IT members on technical issues, and be responsible for related follow-up and providing timely updates on assigned tasks.
  • Documenting Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and performing updates, configuration changes of systems
  • Installing, supporting and managing desktops as well as analyzing logs and identifying root cause issues with systems
  • Support the roll out of new digital technologies
  • Performs other duties or projects as assigned.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Internship / Co-op
Contract length: 8 weeks
Part-time hours: 35 per week

Salary: $15.50-$16.50 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Brampton, ON L6X 2M1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

  • Functional knowledge of Google Workspace and/or office 365 (required)
  • Technical knowledge of printing devices (required)
  • Knowledge in Asset Management/Inventory (required)
