Truck Delivery Driver Job at South End Lumber - Timber Mart
The Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering material to customers in Brandon and surrounding area.
The Delivery Driver’s responsibilities consist of the following:
- Ensure the proper and safe loading and unloading of the vehicle including weight restrictions and lifting devices if vehicle is so equipped.
- Ensure the proper material is loaded on the truck for delivery and agrees to the dispatch copy of the invoice.
- Ensure that all deliveries are accompanied by an invoice and are signed by the contractor or customer.
- Complete credit slips for material returned to the yard and ensure forms are given to sales desk.
- The driver must be familiar with the area to ensure efficient and timely delivery of product.
- Assist with unloading material from suppliers and putting in designated areas.
- Assist with the organization of the yard.
- Be courteous to all customers and staff.
- Keep the trucks clean both inside and out.
- Will require heavy lifting and manual labour.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Perform other duties as required.
Critical Attributes of the Delivery Driver
· Proficiency in English and basic math skills
· Ability to operate a forklift (training will be available)
· Knowledge of building materials.
· Ability to perform under pressure and multi-task.
The ideal candidate will have a combination of the following:
· Valid drivers license (class 5 is mandatory, class 3 is an asset)
· Available to work flexible shifts.
· Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $16.00-$30.00 per hour
