The Catholic Independent Schools of the Vancouver Archdiocese (the CISVA) operates 46 schools – 40 elementary and 6 high schools. Our schools are located throughout the Greater Vancouver Area, near the best sites and attractions that Vancouver and British Columbia has to offer. Our footprint extends over 250 kilometers from Powell River in the west to Chilliwack in the east.

ABOUT

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Elementary School is seeking applicants for the position of Vice-Principal. The position is a 1.0FTE administrator position.

The successful candidate will:

Be a practicing Catholic

Have excellent and confirmed communication skills

Be a proven leader on his/her staff

Have a minimum of five years of teaching experience

Have strong and established organizational skills

Demonstrate a strong understanding of the BC Ed Plan

Have proven skills and experience in using technology

Have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work well with all community members

Be an exemplary teacher with respect to planning, instruction and assessment practices

Be committed to on-going professional development

Duties will include but are not limited to:

Maintaining a TOC list

Hiring of TOC’s as required

Assisting the principal in supervising and evaluating teachers

Attending PEC meetings, sacramental meetings and other events as required

Participating as a member of the PEC Hiring Committee

Organizing professional development for staff

Assisting with the implementation of the School Growth Plan

Mentoring of staff

Ordering of textbooks and supplies

Approving class field trips

Organizing fire, earthquake, and lockdown drills

Overseeing the Foundation Skills Assessments

Overseeing the CAT-4 school-wide assessments

Assisting in any duties as directed by the principal
