Job Description


Overseeing the curation, planning, execution and ROI of Wellness Retreats and Special Events at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise (FCLL). Supporting the revenue, profile and guest sentiment objectives (RPS) of the hotel. Providing effective and efficient workflow toward achievement of these objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will:

  • Maintain oversight of Wellness Retreats and Special Events from ideation to execution
  • Oversee the scheduling of an events and retreats calendar in consultation with in consultation with the Director of Wellness (DOW), Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) and Revenue Manager (RM)
  • Establish pricing for wellness retreats and special events in consultation with RM, DOW and DOSM
  • Maintain active relationships with key facilitators and partnership entities
  • Monitor Wellness and personal development trends
  • Proactively connect with potential new facilitators and partners to ascertain feasibility and fit
  • Measure financial and social media outcomes (in collaboration with Finance and Marketing) for ROI
  • Maintain a CRM database for ongoing marketing
  • Be the key point of contact for Luxury Advisors in relation to Wellness Retreat offerings
  • Provide input into all sales and marketing wellness-related content to ensure fit for purpose
  • Provide updates to Operations, Marketing and Revenue on retreat room block pick-up
  • Consult with Marketing on messaging to help stimulate and drive demand
  • Create associated BEO’s for retreats and special events
  • Share knowledge of FCLL’s heritage, facilities and programming eg. environmental/ heritage initiatives, general destination knowledge and product development
  • Participate in site inspections, familiarization tours, trade shows and functions as required
  • Prepare Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reports as required
  • Actively participate in industry and hotel training programs
  • Integrate within the Sales team and with other team members in Conventions, Guest Services and throughout the hotel
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve systems and procedures
  • Develop relationships within the Regional/Global Sales Office network of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts
  • Participate in prescribed training and special projects.
  • Collect market and competitive intelligence to assess and implement strategy and long-term goals.
  • Build strong working relationships with all hotel teams and clients
  • Assemble and distribute consistent, detailed resumes and banquet event orders and floor plans, that clearly articulates every requirement
  • Work closely with the client and key hotel departments throughout the duration of each event
  • Responsible for the successful outcome of assigned programs from pre-arrival through to post-departure
  • Work closely with the Director of Conference Services and Catering to establish new theme menus, special events and service standards
  • Mitigate event costs by effectively communicating needs, changes in a timely manner
  • Host, attend daily/weekly meetings including, but not limited to Resume Meetings, Group Pick-Up Meetings, BEO Review Meetings and Operation Meetings.
  • Work closely with the Sales department to ensure all contractual terms agreed upon are carried out (including the management of Guest Room Attrition and follow-up on Deposit Schedule)
  • Maintain the integrity of Opera Sales & Catering at all times
  • Oversee activities and guest experiences related to the appropriate packages
  • Maintain files, records and reporting as it pertains to: budgets, contacts, planning activities, time lines, contracts, purchase orders and post meeting notes
  • Conduct professional site inspections and menu tastings as required.
  • Ensure all health and safety standards (hotel safety, Allsafe protocols, AHS regulations) are properly communicated and adhered to
  • Undertake other duties as assigned, from time to time in support of the department or hotel
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment, and actively participate in health and safety initiatives
  • Adhere to all hotel safety and environmental policies
  • Carry out any other tasks as assigned

Qualifications
  • Articulate, self-motivated and an energetic team player
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint
  • Graduate of Hospitality Degree/Diploma program a definite asset
  • Knowledge of hotel PMS such as Opera and CRM systems such as Delphi, Anais or Salesforce an asset
  • Experience in hotel environment an asset
  • Knowledge of FCLL heritage, facilities and programs a definite asset
  • Confident, well-groomed, professional presentation, friendly telephone and personal disposition
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Desire to learn and advance within the Sales and Marketing team
  • Passionate about nature, sustainability, wellness/wellbeing and the field of personal development

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:

  • Operational Food & Beverage experience in a Hotel environment a strong asset
  • Proven ability to plan and organize events effectively, with an acute sense of detail & creativity
  • Assertive, professional and positive with a proven ability to develop and lead in a team environment
  • Must be able to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a very busy environment ~ hours will fluctuate and evening and weekend work will be required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven skills and comfort with public speaking
  • Degree or diploma in Hotel Administration from a recognized University/College/Polytechnic institute an asset.
  • Minimum 3-5 years event and/or catering experience an asset
  • You may be required to work on holidays, weekends, overnights and other non-day shifts. Submission of your application to FCLL indicates that you are able to meet these requirements as needed
