Youth Centre Director Job at Town of Newmarket

Responsible for the overall supervision and operation of the Recreation Youth Centre & Skatepark including: supervising staff, supervision of overall programming, first aid treatment, liaising with the Administrative Coordinator and Recreation Programmer and other departmental program staff and responding to enquiries from participants, parents of participants and the general public.
1. Demonstrated experience in the supervision of staff.
2. Demonstrated experience in planning and execution of youth related programming.
3. Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the general public, participants, parents/guardians of participants and staff.
4. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, instructional, written and program delivery skills.
5. Availability to work evenings, weekends and special events.
6. Due to the nature of the contacts of this position a Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Town is required.
7. Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification required.
8. Current High Five (Principles of Healthy Child Development) certification preferred.
9. Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification or Safe Management certification an asset.
