Position Details
The Financial Services team is accepting applications for an Accounting Clerk to start as soon as possible. Reporting to the Manager, Research and Trust, this position is responsible for:
  • Donation receipting and revenue reconciliation
  • Deposit of donations received
  • Entering and maintaining pledges
  • Monthly accounting reconciliations of bank accounts, donations, and endowments
  • Creating year-end financial working papers
  • Administrator for the University’s gift acceptance guidelines
The duties of this position are to maintain positive working relationships, minimize payment risks, meet legislative requirements, and provide efficient, effective and consistent services.

Position Qualifications
The successful candidate has a college diploma, plus a minimum of 1-2 years related accounting experience that demonstrates:
  • Knowledge and sensitivity for policies and procedures
  • Advanced computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to project and articulate the impact of transactions on results
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize time sensitive transactions
The successful candidate will complement their technical knowledge in accounting with a proven ability to work in a close team environment, using exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical skills, and drive. The incumbent pays close attention to details and is highly organized. Professional judgment, problem solving, and issue identification are essential skills in this role. This is a fast-paced dynamic environment, where adapting to change, managing deadlines, and the ability to respond positively and professionally under pressure are keys to success.
Preference may be given to those with work experience in a post-secondary setting and knowledge of Banner software. Knowledge of the Canada Revenue Agency Income Tax charity donations regulations an asset.
Note: The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

$3,909.00 - $4,349.00 monthly
