We could use someone with your tactical skills and passion for resolving problems to join our team as our Building Maintenance Operator. The ultimate goal of this position is to ensure the well-being of our members and employees by making sure our buildings not only operate efficiently but that they are safe, healthy, and clean environments for our customers’ and staff’s needs.

In this position, you will be responsible for the daily execution of building operation and maintenance activities that are necessary to ensure the successful delivery of appropriate Association facility environments for employees, members, and customers. The Building Maintenance Operator is responsible for the timely and effective processing of building operation functions, security, maintenance and repair arrangements, and for work ticket resolution utilizing both internal and external resources.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Report to the Manager of Facilities.
  • Monitor, document and adjust HVAC system settings, utilizing Building Management System software, (BMS) where applicable, as required.
  • Conduct repairs, minor alterations, and service function adjustments as required for mechanical, electrical, furniture, custodial, janitorial, and aesthetic purposes.
  • Maintain grounds and sidewalks for hazards, trash, snow and/or ice control at owned properties.
  • Make HVAC and Electrical systems program adjustments and changes as required.
  • Review on-site security related issues for appropriate action to address the issues.
  • Inspect and maintain fire suppression systems and emergency lighting.
  • Utilize the ServiceNow ticket management system, coordinate, process, and follow up on open tickets to ensure timely and quality completion.
  • On-site liaison, providing support and supervision for contractors, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Assist with furniture, equipment and staff relocations as required.
  • Work closely with staff, contractors, and vendors to create and maintain quality working.
  • Provide support for corporate fleet servicing and coordination.
WHAT YOU'VE DONE
  • You have a High School diploma.
  • A Class 5 Power Engineer ticket and WHIMIS certificate are an asset.
  • You have First Aid training.
  • You have basic computer skills and are comfortable learning new applications and systems.
  • You’re comfortable with rotational shift work and being on call for emergency call outs as needed.
  • You have proven ability to manage multiple projects on an on-going basis, prioritizing urgency level of projects in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment.
  • You possess creative problem-solving skills to properly interpret, troubleshoot, and resolve unexpected facility issues.
  • You have proven ability to collaborate and build positive relationships to foster service excellence outcomes for both internal and external contracts.
