Our client manages the sales and promotions for the products of their electrical partners across Alberta, the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and parts of B.C. With a focus on end-to-end support, our client offers their clients a full range of services. We currently have an opening for a customer service-minded Commercial Specifications Specialist to join our team.

Position Overview

The Commercial Specifications Specialist position provides direct support to the Outside Sales team in the ongoing development of existing and prospective business. This includes providing education, product presentations and project design to architectural firms, design firms and electrical engineering groups.

Responsibilities

• Design projects with a focus on lighting fixtures and controls, cable management, and distribution products.
• Work with clients to provide end-to-end support throughout the sales process.
• Provide exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction.
• Possess a knowledge base on current products and learn about new products.
• Negotiate pricing and product availability with vendors.
• Prepare and provide accurate and competitive quotes to customers’ bidding projects.
• Prepare budget quotations for specifiers, end users, distributors, and contractors as requested by the sales team.

Skills & Competencies

• Exhibit a positive, friendly, and helpful attitude with customers and be sensitive to their needs.
• Consider all aspects of selling including vendor relationships, profit and loss concepts, and long and short-term goals of the company.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Communicate effectively with customers and manufacturers.
• Assess and respond to customer needs.
• Use sound judgment, listening and problem-solving skills to analyze customer problems and recommend the proper action.
• Product and application knowledge is essential.
• Competency in Microsoft Suite of products essential.
• Experience in specification practices would be an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
