At our cascades plant in Ottawa, we a looking for a licensed AZ driver to join our team. If you or someone you know is an experienced AZ driver and knows the area we are looking for you! In this position you will have the opportunity to drive Tractor Trailer, Rear Packer, Roll-Off, Straight Truck/and or Pick- Truck to various customer locations to pick up their recycled materials.

Job Responsibilities
1. Come to work well rested and mentally and physically prepared for your day’s duties.
2. Complete Pre & Post-trip truck circle checks as per itemized inspection sheet.
3. Complete any repair orders for your truck to ensure that your truck is in a safe condition.
4. Immediately report any defects in equipment or workmanship
5. Report any and all damage to the vehicle, its contents, or to the property of others due to an accident in which your vehicle is involved.
6. As a representative of the Company, it is important to always be neat in appearance and courteous to our clients.
7. Upon arrival at a customer’s site advise the client of your presence.
8. Ensure that all loads being transported are loaded in a safe and secure manner.
9. Complete all job-specific paperwork including route sheets, work orders, scale tickets, mileage reports and log book.
10. Before leaving the client’s site, clean up any excess material that might have fallen off the containers.
11. When driving a Tractor Trailer Truck :
  • Pickup skidded material or switch rolling containers of paper and/or other recycled material;
12. When driving a Rear Packer Truck :
  • Empty containers safely into the hopper of the packer insuring that the load is evenly distributed and that the hopper is not overloaded; and
  • As the material could come in various types of containers, confirm with the customer, which containers are to be emptied of their material
13. When driving a Roll-Off Truck :
  • Switch, install and/or remove roll-off containers;
  • Insure that the compactor bin is secured in the truck;
  • Ensure that the compactor equipment is shut down and locked out before switching containers; and
  • Pick-up and tarp partial/full roll-off container loads and transport loads to the proper facilities, as instructed by Dispatch, to be dumped.
14. When driving a Straight Truck :
  • Pickup and switch rolling bins of paper and/or other recycled material;
  • Confirm with the customer before switching the full rolling bins with empty ones at each client’s site; and
  • When the truck is full of material, insure that the load is properly secured and then delivered to the plant
15. When driving a Pick-up Truck :
  • Pickup and switch rolling bins of paper and/or other recycled material;
  • Confirm with the customer before switching the full rolling bins with empty ones at each client’s site; and
  • When the truck is full of material, insure that the load is properly secured and then deliver to the plant
Qualifications
  • Valid DZ driver’s license with air brake endorsement
  • Minimum 3 years truck driving experience would be preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Good knowledge of the City and surrounding areas
  • Good communication skills
  • Accuracy with weights and measures
  • Strong customer service attitude
