TerraWest Environmental is offering an immediate opportunity for an ambitious and growth -minded Environmental Technologist within our Prince George office.

The Environmental Technologist plays an important role in the field execution Phase I and II ESAs, Stage 1 and 2 preliminary site investigations, detailed site investigations, remediation, compliance monitoring, auditing, hazardous materials investigations and related. As part of the role, you will expand on your knowledge of project logistics, client liaison and problem solving.

Specific job duties include but are not limited to:

· Completion of Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, Hazardous Materials Assessments and related duties;

· Field work and technical data collection, including soil, groundwater, and vapour sampling, with travel as required;

· Client and subcontractor liaison, scheduling, and logistics;

· Report preparation, including data review and supporting document creation; and

· Adherence to the Health and Safety program, team communication, basic administrative works, and related support.

Qualifications

This role is considered a relatively junior position within the organization, and comprehensive training will be provided; however, the minimum qualifications are:

· Diploma, certificate, or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study, for example Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Environmental Technology, Agrology, Geology, Engineering, etc.;

· At least 1 year of relevant work experience including field sampling;

· Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs.;

· Willing to cross-train for hazardous materials investigations;

· Excellent computer-based skills, including use of Microsoft Office products, email, web browsers, online research, and related;

· A professional attitude to written and oral communications with clients and colleagues;

· A positive, friendly, team-oriented attitude; and

· A valid Class 5 driver’s licence with good driving record
