Connex Personnel is currently recruiting for a Financial Analyst on a contract basis until the end of November 2023 within the oil and gas industry located at head office in Calgary, AB.

Key Accountabilities:

Delivers base Finance / Accounting services and receives guidance / coaching on many assignments.

Assignments build understanding of Finance processes and business knowledge and application to business needs.

Good working knowledge of Finance tools and processes to complete tasks and proactively prioritize work.

Assists in the preparation of routine transactional tasks, following established procedures, techniques or methods.

Work performed is increasingly independent with readily available supervision to assist with issues and problems. Work is mainly within the scope of existing procedures, policies and systems.

Follow existing policies, practices, and procedures when making routine decisions.

Seeks out and takes direction from more senior staff.

Solicits input of more senior team members for validation. Tasks and expectations are clearly defined

Exercises judgement within limited discretion.

Responsibilities:

Preparing the monthly JE to allocate maintenance costs from high-level cost center to site level profit center.

Maintaining vendor spend report that tracks costs at a PO level to ensure they are being booked accurately.

Preparing the quarterly clean up entry to reclass vendor charges to the correct CC/GL

Refreshing monthly stewardship reports and ensuring they reconcile to SAC-P

Preparing monthly BC/UC submission reports

Help with reviewing monthly Corrigo data.

Support/and or run various operational reports from legacy systems.

Minimum Requirements:

University degree, preferably Business, Finance or Accounting related, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience or Technical Diploma with minimum of 4 years’ experience or equivalent combination of.

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite with strong working knowledge of Excel.

Working knowledge of database software (SAP, Prism, BEX, BW, Peoplesoft etc.)

If working towards Professional designation, nearing completion of requirements.

Building Skills in: Converting Data to Information: Conducts basic analysis and draws conclusions.

Core Business Processes: Displays basic understanding of core business processes related to his / her own department / function.

Data Gathering and Analysis: Conducts data gathering activities logically and accurately.

Risk Management: Understands business and financial risks and the need for controls.
