General Conventional/Manual Machinist Job at Action Hydraulics Ltd.
Action Hydraulics is a leader in the Greater Toronto Area for the supply and repair of hydraulic equipment. We are seeking a skilled general machinist to grow our hydraulic cylinder manufacturing and repair business unit. Canadian work permit is required.

Duties:
- Performing machining tasks by using engineering sketches or verbal instructions
- Conventional lathe, mill, radial drill and grinder operation
- Thorough knowledge of machining methods and shop mathematics
- Ability to compute dimensions, tapers, cutting angles, tool settings, feed rates and machine speeds
- Exceptional ability to cut ID and OD grooves, and ID and OD threads
- Familiarity with Machinery's handbook for thread specifications
- Computing dimensions within tolerances to lay out work for fabrication
- Ability to effectively use all necessary measuring tools in order to assure conformance to print
- Making precision measurements using precision measuring instruments and techniques
- Inspect work pieces at beginning of and throughout production run to insure part meets tolerance requirements
- Disassembly and assembly of components, fit aligning and adjusting components to precise tolerances
- Setting up jigs, fixtures or machine attachments required for complex precision parts and equipment
- Determining tooling requirements, setup procedures and control settings based on requirements
- Inspect and understand when to replace cutting tools
- Usage of material handling equipment
- Ability to multitask
- Maintain a safe working and good housekeeping practices
- Flexibility and communication skills are very important, English verbal and written communication
- Drafting and welding (STICK, MIG, TIG) experience are highly desirable
- CNC turning experience is highly desirable
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or flexible work schedules as needed
- Works effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Works well in a team as well as independently
- Qualifications: Community college graduation plus completion of a recognized machinist apprenticeship program and Ontario Machinist Certificate of Qualification

Salary: $25.00-$36.00 per hour
