Position Summary for Full-Time Medical Receptionist

Barclay Diagnostic Imaging (BDI), located at 589 Lake Street, St. Catharines, provides diagnostic imaging services to the St. Catharines, Beamsville, Grimsby, Thorold and Greater Niagara community. Our clinic offers services in X-Ray, Mammography, Bone Mineral Density, and in both General and Vascular Ultrasound. BDI is also proud to be a centre affiliated with the Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP). Our primary hours of operation are Monday to Friday. We are open for Saturday appointments 1 to 2 Saturdays a month to accommodate patient requests.

The BDI team includes hospital-based Radiologists with subspecialties in Women’s Imaging (ob/gyn, breast imaging), Musculoskeletal Imaging, Vascular Imaging and other areas of expertise. Our health team works diligently to provide high quality service within an environment focused on exemplary patient care. BDI prides itself on our teamwork, competency, quality of imaging and values that support mutual respect for both staff, patients and referring practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

· 2-year post-secondary diploma in medical office administration an asset· Demonstrates excellent customer service skills by acting in a respectful, compassionate manner.

· Ability to maintain composure while handling multiple tasks, frequent interruptions and demonstrating ability to work in a fast-paced environment

· Professional, with good organization skills and problem solving, with ability to set own priorities, use critical thinking, and work with minimal supervision.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Patient reception duties including patient entry into BDI’s Record Information System (RIS), patient data search, handling various incoming phone calls and enquiries

· Schedule patient appointment requests that are in person or by phone/facsimile, including review of patients who did not attend scheduled appointment and contact to reschedule, requests for follow-up and/or follow-on studies

· Requests for assistance from Radiologists, referring medical practitioners, outside facilities and/or patients on matters related to patient studies or archived imaging and records.

· General tasks related to day-to-day operations (more detail provided during interview)

HOURS OF WORK:

· The current position is for full time employment with opportunity for additional hours (based on BDI hours of operation)

· Coverage of Saturday shifts, 1 to 2 Saturdays a month

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $15.50-$18.00 per hour
