Melamed Palmer Inc., Innovative Rehab, is looking to hire an Occupational Therapist. We provide assessment and rehabilitation services to individuals of all ages with functional impairments, development disabilities, and/or psychological impairments. JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide assessment and treatment (virtual and in-person) to individuals that have sustained complex orthopaedic injuries, neurological injuries (brain injuries, spinal cord injuries) chronic pain, psychological impairments, developmental disabilities, and/or are dealing with the effects of traumatic injuries (e.g., orthopaedic, spinal cord, and traumatic brain injuries). Services are mainly provided in-person.
  • Assist client’s with establishing meaningful short- and long-term goals.
  • Make recommendations to address client’s needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Evaluate and document the effectiveness of the intervention, client’s response, and progress towards goal attainment.
  • Produce Occupational Therapy Reports in accordance with formats and standards of the company.
  • Supervise Rehabilitation Coaches
  • Liaise and collaborate with clients, family members, rehabilitation team members (including Family Physicians, Physiotherapists, Speech Language Pathologists, and Psychologists), and community partners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle
  • Strong report writing skills and attention to detail
  • Strong oral communication and consultative skills
  • Effective time management and organization skill
  • Experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the automobile sector, including knowledge of the FSCO / FSRA guidelines and the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS) is an asset
