Job Description


Looking to fill positions in Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, Grande Prairie, Drayton Valley and Red Earth.

Shift work position, 8 days on and 6 days off

The principal role of the Oil and Gas Operator (Meter Prover) Technician is to be responsible for routine and ad hoc meter proving, while promoting a healthy and safe workplace and ensuring top performance and quality service. Please note that out of town and camp work is a requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete technical troubleshooting and field maintenance related to meter proving
  • Complete routine and ad hoc meter proving for both bench and inline services
  • Calibrate and inspect gas meters
  • Calibrate and inspect product analyzers such as BS&W
  • Understand, interpret and troubleshoot RTU, EFM and PLC configurations
  • Interpret blueprints, circuit diagrams and schematics
  • Collect / validate fuel, flare and vent data and understand the regulations to interrupt data
  • Complete gas and liquid sampling
  • Apply AER Directive 017 regulations to work habits and procedures
  • Understand high level reporting delineation, regulatory requirements, and measurement best practices

  • Travel required, flexible in terms of schedule and type of work
  • Strong work ethic and ensure that safe work procedures and processes are followed in the field
  • Excellent communication, organization, time-management, and prioritization skills
  • Adapt quickly with the ability to manage and deal with ever-changing job requirements
  • Establish and maintain excellent team and client working relationships
  • Understand the AERs Directive 017 and/or OGC Measurement Guidelines for upstream oil and gas operations
  • Familiar with respective API, Chapter 4 proving manuals

Qualifications


Qualifications / Experience:

  • Out of town and camp work is required
  • Industry related certification and/or work experience
  • Proving experience required
  • In-depth knowledge of field activities, and oil and gas facilities
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office, Google, and company software applications
  • Required HSE training for field work
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 operator’s license or equivalent with clean driver abstract
