Onsite English and Business teacher

Virtute Innovation Academy (BSID#880681) is a successfully inspected private secondary school in the Province of Ontario offering both onsite and online education and take pride in awarding students the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) upon successful graduation. The Ontario Ministry of Education has issued the BSID#880681 to Virtute Innovation Academy.

Virtute Innovation Academy’s goal is to ensure their students will gain the skills and principles necessary to get themselves accepted into and prepared to study at top universities and have a successful career in what they choose and pursue to do and accomplish in life both professionally and personally.

We are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced secondary school English and Business teacher to teach onsite credit courses Full-time starting in February 2023.

Qualifications:

Must proficient at teaching the following credit courses:

English as a Second Language, ESL, Level 4, Open (ESLDO)

English as a Second Language, ESL Level 5, Open (ESLEO)

ENG3U Grade 11 English

ENG4U Grade 12 English

BBB4M Grade 12 International Business Fundamentals

CIA4U Grade 12 Analysing Current Economic Issues

BOH4M Grade 12 Business Leadership: Management Fundamentals

BAT4M Grade 12 Financial Accounting Principles

Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certified is preferred but not mandatory
1 year of successful teaching credit courses at an Ontario secondary school experience is preferred.
Education requirements: Education Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Must be familiar with the Ontario Ministry of Education Curriculum and Growing Success
Must be able to incorporate Growing Success Assessment as/for/of Learning into Lessons
Great communication skills with international students
Responsible and passionate about teaching the English language
Able to help students with diverse educational backgrounds and learning abilities
Ability to provide critical and detailed feedback on students’ oral and written products
Enthusiastic and positive attitude, organized and reliable

Job duties:

Teach credit courses and provide effective support for our students

Work with pre-planned lessons for each course and each session
Providing and documenting formative and summative assessments
Marking homework and tests
Recording marks for report cards
Follow up with students' progress
Provide a brief by-weekly student work report to the Guidance Counsellor

Attend and participate in school staff meetings

Schedule: 9:30 am to 5:30 pm
