GardaWorld Fort McMurray Branch is currently seeking a Security Supervisor for an Industrial Camp Position. The shift rotation is seven shifts on seven days off, shifts are 12 hours. The successful candidate will fly from Edmonton or Calgary airport hubs to the oilsands project.

What does a Security Supervisor in Fort McMurray do?

  • Reports to the Contractor head office Ops Manager and liaisons daily with the Client Security Supervisor or Designate.
  • Has direct leadership and supervisory responsibilities over the Contractor s Security Team.
  • Responsible for all aspects of Security operations on a shift basis and specific responsibilities as stated below but not limited to:
    • Ensuring that reports are completed properly, databases are kept current and that follow-up reports are done in a timely and orderly manner. Completion of daily LEM timesheets. Communicate with district office regarding scheduling of security officers, payroll and extra coverage as required.
    • Overseeing all investigations.
    • Making sure that new hires of the Contractor are trained for assigned positions. Ensure proper dress and deportment for all security officers.
    • Conducting safety talks (Toolbox talks) prior to commencing shift. Noting any deficiencies in the workplace (safety hazards, broken and or malfunctioning equipment). Management of Client s Safety practices and reporting Company specific requirements.
    • Being accountable for the personnel working under the supervisor's direction and responsible for communicating any information for the oncoming shift on a need-to-know basis. Managing conflicts.
    • Develop training exercises for the team in relation to responding to emergencies.
    • Prepare and present to the Client by the second Tuesday of each month, the Service Level Agreement statistics with action plans for any area identified as non-compliant.

Qualifications to become a Security Supervisor with Garda in Fort McMurray

  • Security License
  • Class 5 driver s license
  • CSO
  • Standard First Aid Level-C, CPR & AED (2-day course).
  • Excellent verbal and written English Communication.
  • Use tact and diplomacy in all interactions.
  • Proficient in risk management - identifies, understands, assesses, experience in situational de-escalation and mitigates threats to individuals.
  • Preference given to ex-military/police in good standing, with supervisory experience.
  • Drug and Alcohol testing
