WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Senior Compliance Coordinator role within the GCS Cyber Diligence & Integration team is responsible for the coordination and assistance with cyber related activities for multiple mergers & acquisition initiatives and other large business programs. The role will be involved from initiation to delivery, supporting research, due diligence, integration, and the governance of implementation in alignment with end-to-end cyber process lifecycles and tools. This position will work with organizational cross-functional teams and Subject Matter Experts across TI, GCS and our business partners, as well as regulators, to ensure cyber security objectives are maintained through the entire project lifecycle.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Oversee and have responsibility for the delivery & success of concurrent M&A Cyber Due Diligence and Integration related activities including the transfer of accountability to control owners at the conclusion of the integration project(s).

  • Partner and coordinate with GCS, lines of business, other areas of T&O, subsidiaries and vendor organizations providing efficiency conduits and integration framework of GCS controls and service offerings.

  • Lead regulatory response coordination on behalf of GCS, and partnership with other risk teams on regulatory correspondence and inquiries from government agencies and regulatory bodies, like OSFI

  • Execute on the “Cyber Due Diligence Playbook” for the M&A and large-scale Cyber integration initiatives to assist in the expedient implementation of security controls and other solutions to subsidiaries and lines of business ensuring alignment to global GCS standards, leveraging GCS controls and SMEs as required.

  • Provide feedback and input to the improvement of existing due diligence and security integration methods in coordination with GCS SMEs to comprehensively assess the target organization’s technical environment, security posture and capabilities, and inherit internal and third-party risks.

  • Working with other GCS Cyber and Risk teams to coordinate security control reviews and assessments such as application onboarding controls (i.e., IAM), key control reviews, penetration, or security testing of the target organization(s).

  • Based on results of control assessments and cyber reviews, work with other GCS and Risk stakeholders to identify security risks and leverage existing RBC solutions for risk mitigation actions for the acquired company.

  • Document best practices and lessons learned throughout the due diligence period for continuous improvement for future acquisitions.

  • Work in collaboration with other GCS partners in the execution of a catalogue of playbook activities including, for example, the execution of initial security reviews and security control assessments against 3rd parties during due diligence and integration phases of M&A activities.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • Experience working in a security governance, risk, and compliance role

  • Working knowledge of technology related to compliance and risk management

  • Experience working with cross functional teams and business partners

  • Excellent communications ability, both written and oral.

  • Able to effectively present as required to all levels of T&O and business within RBC

Nice-to-have:

  • Program and/or project management experience

  • Experience defining metrics and action for compliance and continuous improvement

  • Experience working with regulatory and/or government agencies

  • Skills in Excel and PowerPoint
