Job Description:

Allied Universal is currently searching for a Security Site Supervisor at Lacombe, Alberta. The Security Site Supervisor will embrace our company’s core values and will supervise and coordinate the delivery of quality services at the client site. The Site Supervisor will act as a liaison between Client, Allied Universal Branch Manager and security officers.


*Must possess a Valid Provincial Security Guard License*


Hourly Payrate: $ 31.15


Flexible Schedule:
4 days 10 hours or 5 days 8 hours or 9 hour days with every second Friday off


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Enforce Contract Standards.
  • Administers site safety programs outlining site-specific hazards for security officers including vehicle / driving safety as appropriate to corporate procedures
  • Prepared to participate in unemployment hearings
  • Capably utilizes scheduling and billing software, and to produce reports (such as Scheduling Activity, Training Detail reports, etc.) that require interpretation and action for effective business management
  • Enforces Allied Universal’s policies as outlined in the handbooks and executive memos
  • Ensures the Site’s operational standards and security procedures are in compliance.
  • Reports all violations, best practices, and recommendations to the ES&S Technologist and Allied Universal Security Branch Manager.
  • Analyse and recommend training for security staff for site responsibilities and monitor its effectiveness in the workplace.
  • Timely completion and submission of all reports and logs as directed by the ES&S Technologist and client.
  • Ensure all Client Security documentation (electronic and paper copy) is filed within the Client ODMS file and Record Retention structure and is accessible by ES&S department personnel
  • Coordinates safety meetings for security staff. Maintains meeting minutes and attendance in the appropriate ES&S folder.
  • Responds to all emergencies as directed by the Client ES&S Technologist, Client Emergency Operation Center, or the on-call Incident Commander.
  • Assist with on-site investigation of theft or property damage. May act as a liaison with RCMP as directed by the Client ES&S Technologist.
  • Assist with on-site investigation of all vehicle or traffic complaints as directed by the Client ES&S Technologist.
  • Promotes the Client Emergency Service and Security “Code of Conduct”,
  • Knowledgeable of Site Emergency Plan.

Coordinate all departmental activities including but not limited to:
  • Ensure all security related applications, daily reports, monthly reports are submitted to the ES&S Technologist and EH&S Office Professional for documentation as outlined by the client.
  • Maintain employee personnel files as per Client Record Retention standards and file structure.
  • Maintain current home phone numbers and emergency contact information for security personnel.
  • Manage badge creation and act as an EBI/DVM administrator for the site.
  • Conduct daily review of contractor badges and deactivate badges with 30 days inactivity.
  • Conduct monthly audit of active site access badges.
  • Manage vehicle passes spreadsheet.
  • Organize vehicle and bag searches.
  • Document all security shift deficiencies.
  • Coordinate the Client Fire Extinguisher monthly inspections as directed by the Client ES&S Technologist and work process. Report completion of inspections to ES&S Office Professional for input into Master Task List.
  • Coordinate the Client SCBA service and repairs as directed by the ES&S Technologist and client work process. Advise ES&S Office Professional of activities for cost center charge-outs, billings, and compliance reporting.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations on all aspects listed above.
  • Performs bi-annual fence line inspections. Report deficiencies to ES&S Technologist and ES&S Gate Keeper.
  • Performs annual site key holder and site lock audit. Report discrepancies and findings to ES&S Technologist.
  • Manage lock and key control. Coordinate for Key and Lock repairs by utilizing Client preferred vendor and for maintenance work process.
  • Coordinate and order new/extra keys/cores utilizing the Client preferred vendor as permitted by the ES&S Technologist.
  • Maintain monthly security guard search numbers and percentages.
  • Hire security guards when not fully staffed or when extra projects are requested by ES&S Technologist.
  • Manage payroll and scheduling of site security guards.
  • Participate in monthly EH&S delivery meetings.
  • Drop off annual USB updates of the emergency plan manual to the authorized parties in compliance, Lacombe Fire Department, Blackfalds Fire Department, Lacombe County Disaster services.
  • Creates security procedure templates for client ES&S Technologist to review and MOC.
  • Maintains inventory of security uniforms and FR coveralls/jackets.
  • Creates and maintains OPD templates to match with Client Operating Procedures.
  • Updates security procedure templates for Client ES&S Technologist.
  • Updates physical security procedure binders when procedures are updated.
  • Completes Security Daily Activity Reports monthly in conjunction with site lead hand.
  • Attend monthly Emergency On Call Table Top meetings.


Qualifications/Requirements:


Qualified applicants for the Security Site Supervisor position will meet the minimum requirements, as described below:


  • 1-2 Year experience is the security industry or related field
  • Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel in a professional and effective manner
  • Licensing requirements are subject to province and/or local laws and regulations and will be required prior to employment.
  • Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Have advanced computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
  • Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
