Your Opportunity:

A Rural Working Leader Environmental is responsible not only to carry out a working assignment at the hospital site, but also for the supervision of Housekeeping Services to all hospital departments and providing a clean, safe and pleasant environment for Hospital patients, staff and visitors.

Description:

As a Working Leader - Environmental, you will be responsible for monitoring and directing the day-to-day workload of the Environmental Services department and ensuring maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies. Your typical duties as the Environmental Working Leader may include developing and maintaining staff schedules; assigning and checking work of the Environmental Services department; assisting with equipment breakdown investigations and providing recommendations for repairs; and coordinating quality assurance functions. You will ensure quality and performance of cleaning tasks in accordance with AHS standards and practices.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Physically capable to walk and/or stand for the duration of your shift, and perform repetitive physical movements.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Ability to clearly speak, read, write, and comprehend English is required. Ability to read, write and comprehend English fluently is required. Computer Literacy, particularly with Windows environment. Working knowledge of MS Office package as well as being familiar with using Internet. Must be capable of frequent heavy lifting and carrying of objects up to 22.5 kg. Must be capable of pushing/pulling heavy carts up to and occasionally exceeding 225 kg. Exposure to CPSM systems would be an asset. Attention to detail required. Knowledge and understanding of department policies and procedures required. Ability to perform basic accounting functions is required. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and vendors required. Capable of producing detailed and accurate work. Work with minimal supervision. Intermediate technical/professional experience (i.e., 3-5 years). Please note this position is located outside Calgary city limits (70km South of Calgary).
