Position
The Armstrong Bakery has been growing rapidly and is looking to add another team member to our team of bakers. Do you love the craft and art of traditional bread making? Do you enjoy making pastries for people? Are you looking to escape the city as this position is located in a mountain town?

Requirements
The right person for this job will:
- Have culinary/baking education and/or work experience.

- Know the art of bread making as the bakery uses traditional bread making techniques.

- Have basic math skills.

- Be organized, punctual, and good at problem solving.

- Be friendly, professional, and a team player

- Be passionate for life and takes pride in what they do.

- Volunteer experience would also be an asset as we believe in community support and engagement (see Who We Are).

Who We Are
- In a world of frozen breads and pastries, that are simply unpackaged and placed in the oven, the Armstrong Bakery is different. The Armstrong Bakery is a “true bakery”, in the sense that most of our products are made from scratch and that we make bread using traditional bread techniques.

- With the bakery being around almost 120 years, the Armstrong Bakery has a long history of providing baking to Armstrong and area. Currently you can find our products in restaurants, markets, and grocery stores. Not to mention the many people that stop from various provinces to stock up on bread to take home with them.

- The bakery believes in helping locally, and helping globally are part of our philosophy. We are just getting rolling, but we have been involved with many local charitable groups, including the Food Bank.

- If you love the outdoors, Armstrong is an incredible place to live. Within very close proximity, you have access to hiking, beaches, lakes, sledding, wind sports, mountain sports, and so much more. Silver Star ski resort is in our backyard and not much further in distance is Revelstoke. Sovereign Lake is a world class cross-country ski resort. There are plenty of road biking and trail riding on Silver Star resort or many public trails in the area including the Rail Trail from Vernon to Kelowna. With so many lakes in the area, there are plenty of water sports to enjoy, fish to catch, and beaches to soak up the sun rays.

- Get out of the hustle and bustle of the big city life by living in Armstrong. Since Vernon is a short drive away, you still get access to the amenities a city has to offer. If you prefer the city life, many people that work in Armstrong, commute from Vernon.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $17.00-$24.00 per hour
