Supervisor Responsibilities

This job contains supervisorial responsibilities of direct reports and hourly event staff ranging from 12- 200+.

Summary

The expectation of this position is that the employee performs their duties and responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner. Furthermore, the expectation is to perform these duties while working as a part of a team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Candidate will support the overall operation of concessions, bars, portables, and specialty stations in the stadium, and will be involved extensively within the concession team.
  • Assist in developing par levels accounting for sales mix and history, and order all beverages accordingly for concessions stadium-wide.
  • Coordinate with warehouse for delivery of beverage to the stadium and support distribution of beverage throughout the stadium.
  • Assets in the setup; ensure cleanliness and organization of all portables and concessions for each event.
  • Help coordinate with third party vendors and sponsors to maintain equipment, signage and innovate new ideas for selling products in the stadium.
  • Work with on-site client, OSEG, to coordinate in house equipment repairs.
  • Produce inventory sheets for portables, and track inventory for all work areas as assigned; on an event and monthly basis.
  • Interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
  • May be required to replenish condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service areas.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with managers and co-workers to accomplish goals, and ensure compliance with company service standards, and inventory
  • Assists with balancing and consolidating sales on various point of sales systems.
  • Support the accounting department in correcting void errors, while coaching supervisors, team leads, and cashiers on reducing error rates and inefficiencies.
  • Assist in developing floor plans for portables to accommodate special events and concerts.
  • Help Director of Concessions with, or conducts training, and scheduling for supervisors and portable bar staff for set up and event days.
  • Assists with leading pre shift meetings for supervisors on prep and event days as needed. Outlines goals and expectations for all supervisors on set up and operation of concessions on a daily basis.
  • Participates in pre-game stand-up meeting, operations or production meetings as required.
  • Ensures all signage for portables and concessions is up to date and pricing is correct.
  • Ensures placement of stanchions, condiment cart set-up, and verifies that concessions are stocked.
  • Informs staff of any new policies or procedures; enforce company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, including issuing disciplinary reports.
  • Ensures employees are wearing proper uniform and have their Smart Serve card in their possession on shift.
  • Co-ordinates and directs supervisors on the completion of various tasks. Walks the floor and assist Supervisors and Team Leads as needed.
  • Possible added recruitment responsibilities periodically: including attending large scale job fairs to promote the department, conducting interviews, making hiring decisions, and training new staff.
  • Assists fellow Concession staff with office work.
  • May involve assisting in or leading special projects as delegated by the Director of Operations or the Director of Concessions

Physical Demands

  • Frequent periods of either sitting or standing may occur; employees are encouraged to stretch as needed.
  • May have the occasional requirement to lift or carry items. Proper lifting technique is a must.
  • Office environment can be busy or quiet.
  • Stadium is an outdoor venue so, dressing appropriately and being prepared for changes in the environment is an expectation.
  • Frequent use of stairs is required; elevator accessibility is limited to accommodating clients and staff with mobility and accessibility needs.
  • Sensory Attention: During events, the stadium floor may be loud.

This position involves working in a unique environment. This is an event-based venue and has characteristics that are inherent to an event-based industry. We are licensed to carry and serve alcohol, and this is a very large part of our business. The majority of the positions we hire, come into contact with alcohol. This is not only an event-based work environment; but is also a sports stadium, and as such is subject to crowds, lots of noise, and intoxicated guests. The safety of our employees is of the utmost importance, measures are taken to mitigate and reduce risk.

Language Skills

  • English is the working language at this job location. Candidate must be able to understand, read, write, and speak English.
  • French is considered an asset but is not mandatory.

Qualifications

  • Must be flexible with schedule and able to work different shifts.
  • Must be bondable, and pass an employer administered background check.
  • Must be able to demonstrate mathematical skills
  • Must possess a valid Smart Serve Certificate
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel

Job Type: Full-time
