PRT Summerland is currently hiring Nursery Workers to assist with seedling sowing & seedling thinning for SPRING and SUMMER work! (Check out the links to see a video on seedling thinning)

What a position with PRT offers:

• Hourly rates start at $18/hr for the training period, compensation then transfers to piece work for thinning, with greater earning potential (average for 2022 season was over $20.00/hr); motivated and efficient workers have no upper limit on piece earnings!
• Work is available approx. now to the end of June, with an opportunity to join other projects. There may be short breaks in between thinning projects.
• No experience required; full training provided
• Our PRT nurseries are vibrant and fun communities with employees who share a strong passion for the “green” nature of our business and doing their part in regenerating the forests of North America
• We provide a supportive team structured environment with a strong safety culture

What you need for a position with PRT:

• Energetic with attention to detail
• Positive attitude and a team player
• Work is meticulous and requires good eyesight and manual dexterity
• You will stand for lengthy periods of time, walking, repetitive lifting, (light to medium weight objects), and perform repetitive movements
• Mostly indoor greenhouse work , must be prepared to work in outdoor elements as well
• Appropriate attire required (raingear, sunhat, sunglasses, non-slip footwear, water)
• Reliable transportation is essential
