As the HR Manager for our rapidly growing team, You will need to take responsibility for all aspects of finding these people and nurturing them on the path in Stay At Home Nursing.

We are seeking a full time Human Resources Manager to play an integral role in both the operational and strategic activities of the Human Resources department. As a member of the management team, this proactive individual is responsible for all human resource functions of the company and thrives in a role with a variety of responsibilities to ensure the department is productive and efficient.

Key Responsibilities of this Role:

  • Maintain strict weekly/monthly/quarterly cadence of activities to always be ahead of the curve on staffing needs in a fast paced environment
  • Provide expert advice, guidance and coaching to managers and stakeholders as required in areas such as employee relations, performance management, human rights, employment law, policy interpretation.
  • Retain constant awareness of the company’s people issues and trends and drive the HR planning of the company.
  • Consult with supervisors and employees regarding employee development opportunities. This may involve succession planning, formal education, or hands on training.
  • Increase talent development and retention through guidance on coaching and management best practices.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of groups during orientation sessions and when communicating HR directives to employees.
  • Create, implement and/or maintain human resource policies, procedures and best practices including compliance with legislation and/or health and safety policies and programs.
  • Continually look to enhance the employee experience and make recommendations or positive changes to improve efficiency, productivity and/or employee engagement.
  • Manage work related incident files (WSIB claims management, return to work plans, follow-up on corrective action and conduct workplace investigations as required).
  • Manage the administration of the benefits eligibility for full time employees
  • Assess compensation annually and make recommendations accordingly to remain competitive in the market and ensure pay equity.
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
  • Collaborate with various department managers to ensure the onboarding and orientation of all staff is smooth and welcoming.

  • Post-Secondary diploma or degree, in Human Resource Management or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Certified Human Resources designation (CHRP is an asset, CHRL is preferred)
  • Proven experience in a stand-alone HR advisory role
  • Passion and talent for the full spectrum of human resources functions
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation including the Employment Standards Act (ESA), Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) etc.
  • An analytical and logical mind with a strategic ability
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Well-developed influencing and negotiating skills including conflict resolution.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment when making decisions.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proven track record of establishing strong relationships
  • High levels of diplomacy, discretion, and attention to detail
  • Proficient in the use of Google Workspace and can utilize technology to build simple and effective reporting tools.
  • Flexibility and initiative to undertake various duties and roles as required.

COVID-19 considerations:
All new hires are required to be COVID tested upon coming in office for training. Masks are worn during all training sessions. Additionally, all caregivers are provided full Personal Protective Equipment as necessary - including masks, gloves and gowns.
