This is a mat leave contract for 12-18 months.


How your role will add to the story:


The Marketing Communications Lead, Vans will be responsible for the development and supervision of all marketing and communications strategies for the department. Oversees the development of goals, strategies, and implementation plans to execute comprehensive marketing campaigns. Ensures that marketing communications are delivered on target, on time, and within budget.


A day in the life

  • Lead the development and execution of all Vans National Marketing campaigns, communications and initiatives including production, digital, website, print, collateral, paid media, social media and events (30%)
  • Develop a comprehensive and integrated marketing strategy for MB Vans in order to enhance brand awareness, achieve MB Van’s overall business objectives, and support sales & profitability growth (20%)
  • Manage all agency partners including the development of briefs, priorities, and deadlines. Assign projects and direct agency staff to accomplish activities according to plans (20%)
  • Lead, empower, and develop the Marketing Communications Specialist and Marketing Intern. This includes development plans, daily coaching, and the delegation of tasks (15%)
  • Manage the annual marketing budget ( 3.5-4.0 million dollars) including the annual budget plan, all accounts payable and accounts receivable topics, invoicing and budget management. Responsible for budget tracking and accrual management (10%)
  • Monitor performance, effectiveness, and impact of current marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis, and optimize accordingly (5%)

Qualifications


Mercedes-Benz Star skills, requirements & traits:

  • University degree in business administration with a concentration in Marketing and/or Communications
  • Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in automotive marketing
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) an asset
  • Extensive knowledge of marketing strategies, channels, and branding
  • Leadership and a well-defined sense of diplomacy (negotiation, conflict resolution, analytical, critical thinking, and people management skills), with the ability to network and build relationships with diverse groups and cross-functional partners
  • Project management, prioritization, and time management with the ability to multitask
  • Ownership mentality, independence and strong ability to problem solve and make difficult strategic decisions
  • Must be able to work flexible hours/work schedules with possible domestic/internal travel occasionally
  • Bold, innovative and enjoy challenging yourself
  • Honest and professional, a strong team player
