Description:

Aston Carter's large retail client is looking to add a Merchandise Payment Representative to their team on a contract basis. The Merchandise Payment Representative plays a critical role in ensuring on-time vendor payments. The position will be part of the Accounts Payable team and will be dealing with high volume 3-way match invoices. Duties include:

  • Provide proactive service to ensure vendors experience timely and accurate processing of invoices for payment using the 3-way matching process.
  • Serve as the point of contact for vendors regarding 3-way matching discrepancies, disputes, and escalations.
  • Communicate with a variety of internal and external contacts including but not limited to individuals in Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Finance in a timely manner.
  • Investigate the cause of a problem, prioritize, and follow up with other business units to resolve issues.
  • Have a thorough understanding of proof of delivery documentation, request documentation from vendor to resolve exceptions, review documentation for accuracy and completeness, complete accurate adjustments based on the documentation.
  • Perform project related tasks as assigned by the Supervisor, Merchandise Payment Operations, or others.
  • Perform vendor reconciliations and complete the follow-up process.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must Haves:

  • 1-2 Years of AP experience (3 way matching experience, high volume experience, journal entries, payment terms, understanding of cost centers)
  • Large ERP experience (Peoplesoft, SAP, Dynamics)
  • Intermediate Excel experience (v look ups, pivot tables)
  • Strong verbal and written communication (will be dealing with vendors on a regular basis)

Nice to Haves:

  • Peoplesoft
  • PMM experience
  • Post Secondary Accounting education
