The Langley Concrete Group, one of the Fraser Valley's best employers and BC’s largest manufacturer of precast concrete products, has an immediate opportunity for a Quality Assurance Engineer at our main manufacturing facility in Chilliwack BC.

In the role of Quality Assurance Engineer for The Langley Concrete Group your key focus will be to ensure the wide range of reinforced precast concrete products we produce meet or exceed the quality requirements of the various third party audited quality assurance certifications we maintain. These include CWB, CSA, ASTM, and ACPA Q-Cast certifications for precast concrete pipe, manholes, stormwater management and other products.

Key responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to:

  • Working closely with production management to coordinate the timely assessment of fabrication of reinforcement and form work, pre-pour inspections, TEB Testing, Concrete Compression Strength verification and post pour dimensional verification.
  • Training and mentoring QC staff to ensure effective use of test equipment and a high awareness new products and product design.
  • Maintaining orderly, up to date, well-organized and fully compiled records of all in house and third party testing and certifications as required by our quality assurance certification programs.

The qualifications and experience that support success in this role include:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering).
  • P. Eng. or registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
  • A broad understanding of design standards and quality assurance requirements as they apply to precast concrete products.
  • Relevant work experience in a quality focused role.
  • An ability and ease in effectively communicating technical concepts to an audience with varying level of familiarity with quality assurance standards and requirements.
