Job Description:

Skilled in making the Models by hand especially wood Fabrication, metal assembly and plastic fabrication.

Refine your skills by working with one of Canada’s leading manufactures of store fixtures and retail displays. Our clients include both sales agencies and some of the most well-known Canadian retailers.

Head Model Maker is expected to create easily replicated models’ custom to specific projects.

Project Setup is responsible to ensure timely and accurate setup of the initial stages of projects.

Special Projects can be categorized as organizing, leading and helping to execute company projects that may fall outside of the scope of regular job duties.

These roles in combination come with various responsibilities which can include but are not limited to:

Job Responsibilities:

· Create, design, and construct tools, parts, and models using various materials

· Using information and preliminary designs to bring projects to life into 3D models

· Constructing the initial model of the project and create simple ways for ways replication

· Having a keen ability to create accurate designs including precise measurements, material type, and finishes

· Suggest improvements or simplifications to processes in creating models

· Creating or using blueprints, drawings or CAD designs to create prototype or sign-off models according to established specifications.

· Producing jigs for easy replication of the final model by general warehouse employees

· Supervising the replication of models to ensure quality production

Project set up

· Planning and overseeing projects in their early stages

· Identifies all necessary resources and designates them according to the project specifications while monitoring the progress

· Create, design and construct tools, parts and models using various materials

· Assist other departments personnel in problem-resolution as required

· Ensure timely and accurate setup of projects to maintain desired schedule

Special projects

· Lead on Special Projects

· Identifies all necessary resources of special projects

· Organize, lead, supervise, and help to execute company projects that may fall outside the scope of regular duties

· Responsible for proactive problem solving on projects

· Performing quality control sign-offs throughout multiple stages of each project, exercising a keen eye in identifying any issues before projects leave the building

· Complete any additional paperwork required to close a completed project

· Work with Machine department to develop work flows and production process

· Experience with machining of various materials including plastic, acrylic, laminate, and wood

· Knowledge of cutters and inserts to be capable of selecting the right tools for the machine and materials

· Understanding of 2D and 3D models and blueprints to provide accurate measurements, cuts, and overall quality of final projects

· Strong proficiency with tools, systems, and procedures required to accomplish the projects

Salary: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
