About Us
SA Energy Group is a General Partnership between Robert B. Somerville and Aecon Utilities, a division of Aecon Construction Group. SA Energy Group provides mainline pipeline construction services to the Canadian Oil and Gas industry. We have a strong project backlog and our successes are well documented having constructed over 1000 km of large diameter pipeline over the past 8 years.
Purpose of the Position
Reporting to the Master Mechanic, the Parts Technician will be responsible for tasks including, but not limited to ordering parts, controlling inventory, warehousing, and maintaining essential documentation.This is a temporary, full-time position. The work schedule will be 6 days on (Monday – Saturday) and 1 day off (Sunday), 12 hours per day. The employment term shall be dependent on the duration of the current project and future project workload.

Location
The position will be based out of SA Energy Group’s camp located northeast of Prince George, BC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technicians with accurate parts and information on request.
  • Efficiently problem solve and source alternative parts when standard parts are not available for order.
  • Maintain parts inventories, which includes identifying and cataloguing parts and assemblies, ordering parts, receiving parts, inspecting parts, sorting parts and stock handling.
  • Complete and enter documentation into database as required.
  • Track orders and shipping and receiving information for the Maintenance crew.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Knowledge and Skills
  • Must possess a Journeyman Red Seal Parts Technician certification.
  • 5+ years experience as a Journeyman Parts Technician.
  • Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks within a high-pressure work site environment.
  • Previous pipeline experience is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Experienced with CAT SIS.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to work well with others and take direction.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Extended work hours as required.
  • Travel and/or living in temporary accommodation is required.
